ADAM Rouse

Senior Counsel and Director, eDiscovery Operations, Walgreens Co.

Adam Rouse is the Director and Sr. Counsel, eDiscovery Operations for Walgreen Co. Adam advises internal and external counsel concerning eDiscovery and Legal Hold issues across a wide variety of commercial, regulatory, and employment matters. Additionally, Adam coordinates with the Global Compliance team to facilitate data collection and analysis for global compliance efforts. He also drives the adaption of new and emerging legal technology within the Legal Department.
 
Prior to returning to Walgreens, Adam worked with the Legal Team as US Foods to create their eDiscovery program, joining it with legal hold and information governance. He also consulted with Baxter International, assisting them with their data breach incident response planning. He was a legal fellow at the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Chicago-Kent School of Law where he worked in the Institute for Science, Law, and Technology—researching, writing, editing, and supervising student efforts in all manner of legal scholarship involving science and technology.
 
Adam has a strong background in technology, working in IT Security roles dealing with data classification, data loss prevention, and compliance investigations. Prior to changing lanes by attending law school to earn his J.D., Adam worked for HSBC bank for over a decade filling many roles including IT engineering and architecture, reaching a capstone project of assisting with the technology design and implementation for the first LEEDs Gold Certified headquarters for a financial institution in the United States.
 
Adam has recently been named an AI Visionary and named a finalist for an AI Innovation award. He continues to speak and write about the adoption of advanced AI technologies across industries. Adam earned a LL.M. in Space, Cyber, and Telecommunications Law from the University of Nebraska and continues his interest in space and rocketry with Central Illinois Aerospace, launching amateur rockets throughout the year.
